Terms and Conditions

Travel Costs & Documentation

All volunteers and interns must apply for a special pass and attach requirements form. It is the responsibility of the volunteer to carry all necessary documents when travelling. PLL is not responsible for any supporting documents necessary for the volunteer's travel needs or other purposes, however PLL may advise the volunteer on required travel documentation. The volunteer is responsible for arranging and paying for their own travel, including all airfares or other transport costs to and from the placement country as well as any local transport costs. Visa fee is also paid by the volunteers.

Travel Insurance

Is mandatory for each volunteer. The volunteer will purchase this prior to departing. PLL does not provide the volunteer with insurance of any kind. The volunteer is solely responsible for selecting the type, and coverage levels of any insurance policy which must cover their entire travel period.

Placement Fee

Registration fee is €200 Euros non- refundable upon application and submission of registration form.The PLL placement fee for a volunteer is €650 per 4 weeks and €800 for intern volunteers paid in full 60 days prior to the placement start date. A volunteer’s placement on a program cannot be confirmed until the entire PLL placement fee has been paid in full. Specific details about the placement host including address, phone number and contacts can only be provided after the full payment has been received. Failure to make final payment can result in a loss of volunteer placement with no refun

Transaction Fees

-A 2% charge applies to all fees paid by credit card (visa/mastercard) and 3% for American Express visa-mastercard-amex -No additional charge for payments made by direct credit (bank transfer). Electronic Fund Transfer

Placement Fee Policy

PLL reserves the right to revise the PLL placement fee at any time. All PLL placement fee revisions will be made via the PLL website with seven (7) days advanced notice given before they take effect. PLL placement fee revisions are not applicable to volunteers who have paid. Details of the PLL placement fees are set out on the website. Placement fee is inclusive of arrival airport transfer, 2 meals per day (breakfast and dinner), accommodation at the host family, volunteer coordination, support, local guiding and advice. It does not include visa fee, travel insurance (mandatory), airfares, tours, souvenirs, spending money, departure airport transfer, daily local transport within the placement, departure transport cost from placement, other personal costs like taxis, car hires. Once your application and registration is received, your placement is booked, the applicable fees will be confirmed.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

PLL cannot accept any liability for inconveniences caused or costs incurred other than the registration fee in the event of cancellation by the volunteer or the placement itself. Registration fee of €200 Euros is non – refundable. If PLL cannot place you on any placement preference of your choice, you are entitled to a full refund If the volunteer cancels giving notice more than 4 weeks before the placement start date – 50% of the placement fee will be refunded. Giving notice less than 4 weeks before the placement start date there is no refund of the placement fee. If the placement cancels after volunteers have been accepted PLL will make every effort to find a suitable alternative placement for you. However if the placement is cancelled too close to its scheduled start date, it may not be possible to offer another placement. If this is the case, PLL will fully refund the placement fee.

Personal Risks

The volunteer acknowledges and accepts the responsibilities and risks associated with their agreement to travel to, temporarily live in and provide volunteer services in a developing country. Such travel and volunteer work can involve a certain degree of risk, dangerous activities and personal perils to the volunteer, both foreseen and unforeseen, all of which are fully accepted by and solely assumed by the volunteer. Therefore, PLL including any and all of its employees, managers, directors, shareholders, host families and host country partner organizations are not liable, to the maximum extent of the law, for any loss or harm the volunteer or associates may suffer, including but not limited to loss caused directly or indirectly by Personal injury, Illness or disease, Emotional injury, Damage to or loss of property, War or terrorism, hostage situations or Death


The volunteer agrees to indemnify IVI against any and all liability which IVI incurs arising directly or indirectly out of, or in connection (in any way) with, the volunteer's travel to, living in and providing services in the volunteer's nominated country. Notwithstanding anything else contained in any agreement, the liability of PLL to the volunteer shall not in aggregate exceed the amount of the placement fee paid by the volunteer.


The volunteer agrees to comply with the placement organization's rules and regulations. PLL reserves the right to use feedback and images provided by volunteers for website materials such as testimonials. PLL connects volunteers to partner organizations. You agree that PLL is not liable for any actions or omissions of any partner organization.

Evaluation and Feedback

Volunteers are expected to fill out PLL evaluation form and send PLL a detailed report of their placement experience


Electronic submission or signature of your placement application indicates that you have made a commitment to PLL.
